Romero et al should have trademarked it/copyrighted as they made no money at all. Dawn of the Dead 1978 was the 'payday' George deserved and one which kickstarted a whole load of poor imitations. Snyder's remake of Dawn of the Dead 2004 was the exception as it contained some fantastic action horror scenes, especially the start.

I must say that I much prefer Savini's remake of Night of the Living Dead 1990. The Umbrella release is a fine addition as is the Sony one. Really would have loved to have had those forced MPAA cuts reinserted from the workprint.
RobertAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566408705248423573.post-33864855090826273212021-01-31T04:24:56.059-05:002021-01-31T04:24:56.059-05:00another addition to the list is the 2008 dimension...another addition to the list is the 2008 dimension / genius 40th ann. edition dvd with original film restored, remastered and authorized by mr. romero. this seems to be the u.s. version of the japan 40th ann. release as it uses the same artwork reconfigured (with his signature on the front) and has most if not all the same extras (based on online info as i can't read japanese) Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566408705248423573.post-50814348206071634322021-01-16T11:55:29.561-05:002021-01-16T11:55:29.561-05:00Excellent article but there are more.
