I don't see that on the case anywhere... Anyway, it's definitely nothing to get excited over. On that disco, only the 5.1 is DTS-HD; the 2.0 is lossy and presumably (though this part's a guess - I don't have the 1998 disc to check and confirm that they're identical) is just a carry-over from their older DVD.John W McKelveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224424721208024907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566408705248423573.post-10894932957595881772022-02-25T04:46:45.478-05:002022-02-25T04:46:45.478-05:00I have a quick question regarding audio: What is t...I have a quick question regarding audio: What is the DD 2.0 "TV speaker" mix on the Universal (Screwhead Edition) Blu-ray? Is it a downmix of the DTS-HD MA 5.1 track, or is it a bone-headed new descriptor for the original sound mix?Kevin Strikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17916752818273318792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566408705248423573.post-48244075904411270052019-05-13T07:58:56.565-04:002019-05-13T07:58:56.565-04:00Unless I misunderstand, that would all add up, yes...Unless I misunderstand, that would all add up, yes. The Optimum DVD (which is UK, PAL) does say "92 mins approx" on the back (I don't own it, but I've looked up photos of the back of the case, so I can confirm that), and the "Full 96:00 min cut of the film" on a PAL DVD would be about 92. If you mean it should be 92:26, not 92 even, yeah, I'd say they're just rounding to the nearest minute. They do say "approx" on the case itself.John W McKelveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224424721208024907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566408705248423573.post-8512805647099632692019-04-21T07:01:32.593-04:002019-04-21T07:01:32.593-04:00I just wondering I find here: http://www.dvdcompar...I just wondering I find here: http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=1398#15 Optium version. And write this: R2 United Kingdom- Optimum - No Cuts. Full 96:00 min cut of the film, Along with the R3 release, the longest cut of all the releases. And includes the 2 second scene of Evil Ash stripping Sheila which is not on the Director's Cut (92:26 PAL). - On dvd back cover time is 92 min??? is mistake or what? If you mean their Director's cut (which is their best transfer), though, you're in luck because several of the unspecified images in this article are from that disc. The first shot of the witch near the top, the shot of the twinned Ash in front of the moon lower down, and the shot of the crowd peering into the pit beneath that one.John W McKelveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224424721208024907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566408705248423573.post-37396559772181019972016-02-06T00:54:41.974-05:002016-02-06T00:54:41.974-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16412046960585259162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8566408705248423573.post-81751593159687851222015-12-17T00:38:37.218-05:002015-12-17T00:38:37.218-05:00Oh! Very interesting analysis on the various worldwide DVDs and Blu Rays versions of ARMY OF DARKNESS,a ridiculous but fun film that has received as many VHS video and DVD re-releases from Anchor Bay Entertainment as the likes of THE EVIL DEAD,HALLOWEEN,and THE WICKER MAN(the latter film which was certainly treated much better in its various U.S. VHS video and DVD incarnations/releases than it was in its 1979 U.S. theatrical release).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
